Dog Bite Law

California has specific laws regarding dog bites.  California Civil Code section 3342 provides that an owner of a dog is liable for damages suffered by any person who is bitten by the dog while in a public place or lawfully in a private place. A person that is injured from a dog bite should be compensated for the injury.  There are state and federal agencies and city and county regulations that affect the claim's process and a person's right to recover for a dog bite injury.
